Suits
Where do y’all get suits from? I’m looking to get some suits and it’s been hard because of my build. I have pretty broad shoulders and big chest. Any recommendations for those in the room who lift / athletic build?
Thanks

I got mine from JCrew but I got something on the cheaper end; I was going to get it altered since I was facing the same issue which was like $150.
Since you have an athletic build just buy whatever fits your shoulders perfectly and get a tailor that can alter the rest. The suit ends up looking triple what you payed for it imo. I also brought my dress shirts and they cut me a nice deal, they’re usually family owned and cool about it.
But yeah you won’t find anything off the rack that will look flattering, whatever fits you nice in the shoulders will usually end up being super baggy everywhere else.
This is helpful thanks
Brooks Brothers, if it's on sale. It's overpriced if not.
I wear Suitsupply. I'm not super jacked by any means, but I'm short with a broad chest/shoulders, so I have the same trouble with finding clothes. Just get the size that fits your chest/shoulders, and if the jacket is too long, get the short size (e.g., if you wear a 40, get a 40S). Suitsupply will also tailor your suit for free if you buy from them, so they can fix any other issues you have with the fit. Plus, the nice thing about Suitsupply is that they never have sales; counterintuitive, I know, but it means you never have to worry that you might not be getting the best price.
I agree I’m short and broad and they gave me a 42s it’s a bit tight sometimes actually but generally solid and it’s molded a bit to my body. That's being said i feel some kind of a misconception because I got a suit tjere once and got charged like $60-80 in alterations for the pant. I said fuck it and got two anyway because I really needed em but suitsupply is known to oversell alterations I thought. What do you mean by free tailoring —- I believe indochino is genuinely free tailoring / alterations (cost built in to suit)
Another nice thing about SuitSupply suits is that they are half-canvassed instead of fused. Over time, this should mend to your body shape a bit
Check out Bonobos too along with the ones listed above
If you're in NYC, check out Mr. Ned -- fully custom, inexpensive but beautiful and great quality. Did my tux for my wedding, need to get there post-summer for some suits.
Enzo Custom - starts at $495 for full custom and goes up from there.

If you're in NY or Boston - Blanklabel. 5 of my suits are from there, all made to fit, handmade, love them. 900 per

Any recommendations for the ladies?
When it comes to off-the-rack suits, Cesare Attolini is by far my favorite brand. They just fit my body incredibly well, minimal tailoring needed, and I really love the cut and style. But you don't need to buy $5k suits to look good - hell, even suitsupply works well, I have a couple of those from their MTM program.
In the end, it comes down to finding the brand or tailor that makes the best suits for you. I've lost count of how many brands I've tried, but again and again, some brands just make suits that fit me well.
