@OP, typically most forms of technical analysis are viewed as only slightly better than snake oil among the professional investing crowd these days. Usually it's day traders on instagram that I see talk about this stuff, and outside of really old school guys who are somehow still in the industry (TA was bigger 20-30 years ago before it became so discredited) you won't really find it being seriously used. 

 

If you're an optimist, it used to work but ceased to do so as the quant crowd steadily arbed it all away. Any alpha to be gained from TA would have been the lowest of the low hanging fruit that doesn't require any qualitative understanding of a stock and so can be reduced to variables/patterns that algos can easily deal with. 

If you're a pessimist, it was already snake oil 20/30 years ago and it just took the industry a while to realize it.
