little reading list for inspired "bottom-up" investors

This post is for inspired investors. I sincerely hope it serves as a good starting point for at least one person out there.

Note: I don't think it is necessary to read books in their entirety, just go as far as you are excited about what you are reading. If necessary it is better to get back later and read what you have skipped than struggling through an uninterested to you content.

1. The Intelligent Investor (Graham)
A lot of stuff you might find boring. Most of it is so accepted and well-known that at some point you might think "I already knew all of that". I still think one might find it useful to get the right mindset towards investing.

2. Margin of Safety (Klarman)
Has practical tips for a confused investor, as the 80/20 rule on the investment research (p.167). Good starting point for those into spinoffs and distressed debt.

3. The Outsiders (Thorndike)
About the importance of capital allocation. The compelling argument how the companies in the not so favorable industries and economies outperform S&P by many folds through their capital allocation strategies.

4. Common Stock and Uncommon Profits (Fisher)
Business Appraisal 101

On Financial Valuation:
Security Analysis (Graham and Dodd), Financial Shenanigans, and Valuation (Rosenbaum)

Happy Reading.
