Path to Hedge Fund
Secured IBD SA for 2024, but ultimate end goal is to be in the HF space. Is it still a typical 2 and out for hedge funds from IB?
In retrospect, maybe should’ve pursued ER, but curious to hear about how those in the HF space got there. Any insight / advice appreciated.
Hey Intern in IB-M&A, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I am sad to say, but this thread is lonely, so thought I'd post in here to try and help out. Some potential topics that might help:

Interested as well.
There’s been past topics covered but it’s hard to see a true path.
Interested in the type of funds investment bankers exit to / the skills we can bring / type of roll we’d have / what headhunters look for
I've seen people make the transition from IB to HF. My bank there's been a few people that do it (Citadel, Millennium, or even some SM HF) but honestly not as common. I know that Dynamic Search Partners is the best for HF gigs.
If it’s not that common, how the hell does anyone make it?
bump - is it worth it to prep for on cycle PE? Or just wait until more HF's are hiring
