AMC is a good bet for this year, right? I think people will flock to the theaters with their friends when 1) the lockdowns end and 2) the blockbuster movies delayed due to covid get released this year. And then the additional reddit hype will only help. Btw I haven't done any DD and I'm an investing novice, so I'm sure there are many things I'm not considering. This is just a thought.

That’s not how things work. Picking a stock without even understanding valuation is what you are doing. Yes, amc will have more people going to it’s theaters, but that doesn’t mean that it should go up at whatever price it currently is (highly overvalued). You also have to take into consideration the headwinds that will affect it. You can’t just say rocket because movies will open up again. If it were this easy everyone would be a millionaire by now, although picking stocks in a bull market is much much easier.

Streaming services. Lots of productions are going to keep launching their new movies on their own platforms. There is some shift in this area.

Post covid fears. It’s not like everyone is going to flock to watch movies. Even some normal movie theaters might be a bit conscious.

Movie theaters even pre covid were not as popular as they once were. I don’t even remember the last time that I went to one. I prefer watching at home. People talking/other distractions makes me not be a fan of movie theaters anymore. I love them as a kid but mostly because there isn’t much you can do in my town when you are in middle school/elementary, there are so many other entertainment alternatives now a days.

I think people overall are becoming more introverted, the new generation for sure is more introverted. People prefer not being in situations like a crowded movie theater. Anxiety/depression is an all time high.

Anyways these are just some quick headwinds that I thought about, I don’t really trade nor care too much to go in depth. Of course these are just my thoughts and I could be wrong.
