2 internships at once???

Hi guys, just finished freshman year at a semi-target. So I'm doing 2 (remote) internships this summer, but I just realized that it might be a conflict of interest/ not legal. One is a very small PE firm (2 co-MDs) and the other is a search fund (only 1 guy). I'm doing both because 1 internship will focus on industry research powerpoints and excel work while the other will focus on building models, so I thought I could learn a lot. It's only 15-20 hours of work a week for each.

Obviously, they are both tiny so I was thinking no big deal. However, I am worried that if I put both on my resume, questions might come up in interviews in the coming years. So do you guys think this is okay? Do you think I will be able to put both on my resume without having "legal" questions asked?

Thanks in advance. I always search my questions on the forum so that I don't ask a question that has already been asked, but I couldn't really find a concrete answer for my circumstances.

I had one summer where I worked a 9-5 internship and a remote internship at the same time. People asked me about it. I explained I would get up at 4:00am and do work for the remote internship, then go to my full-time job. Simple enough. They were usually impressed.

Ask for forgiveness, not permission.

I don't think you're in a dubious legal position, then again the only law I know is because of Suits (Harvey Specter is the best).

The first time you catch a whiff of a possible conflict bring it up, otherwise don't worry.

"It is better to have a friendship based on business, than a business based on friendship." - Rockefeller. "Live fast, die hard. Leave a good looking body." - Navy SEAL

2 remote meaning meaning non-physical, right? I'm not asking how you found them necessarily, but found 2? Didn't think they were that common (I only know of maybe 2 and from other people who knew of them or were well known, not found myself.) so where did you find these?

On another note, it doesn't seem like they sent over paperwork and stuff for you to sign and the internship is mostly informal (if you're not getting paid say whatever). If it is super informal (like, people in the future won't call your guys to verify or you aren't listing them as references), I'd go with the already suggested and list them at 2 different times of the year.

Otherwise if erring on the side of caution, just list them at the same time. This does matter if you're making it out as if you are doing value-add work, but any way have a good explanation for what you worked on, and have it learned by your next interviews. As a Freshman, no one will expect much competence other than looking at demonstrated interest and basic fundamentals. If you misrepresent in any way, it only matters in the context of next summer's internship. People aren't going to care about the distinction in the future so make it is as accurate as you know after sophomore year.
