Was actually across from the guy on a deal - solid banker (very hands on / in the numbers for a more senior guy) who was super intense, a lot of times those guys really let it rip when they get messed up and it clearly sounds like he was a bully to younger bankers.

Not sure about the exact details of what happened, and obviously a history there, so harsh consequences were clearly in order, but Bloomberg writing an entire article about the guy's life and spreading his name all over the internet seems a bit harsh. He probably doesn't have enough clients to restart his career like a Sage Kelly type so I'm guessing he is really scrambling to stay in finance anywhere.

This really typifies the issues with this day and age of everyone posting everything on the internet - if you do something that offends anybody, you will likely face consequences. I think this entire thing came out from a dealbreaker leak, which I tend to think is really not cool on the part of the leaker, but unfortunately it is the world we live in.

Piece of professional (and personal) advice, if you have an issue bring it to the attention of somebody higher up or that person directly (although in this case it sounds like it was and they tried to brush it off, so maybe not applicable here), rather than leaking it - this guy probably deserved to be fired but I'm not sure he deserved to have his life completely ruined. This is not a defense of his behavior in this incident or prior incidents, but I tend to believe that completely ruining somebody's life should really only apply to the most extreme of circumstances (once again, don't know the exact details, maybe this rose to that level)
