I'd say as an intern looking for an internship / to network, you can't go wrong with using Mr. in most cases. Once you've graduated college that should go away immediately. I would never call an MD at my firm or somewhere else "Mr." even if I didn't know them. Even our CEO/CFO I address by their first name when I have to go into meetings with them.
if I saw someone use that I would assume they were an ESL interntional student (in which case they get a pass). If you're english as a first language and you do that I would think you were a weirdo
Oh i definitely don't, although i would assume if they are above a certain age it'd be safer to say mr. But then i haven't been in contact with any MD so.
Weirdly enough I think it’s safer to just go First Name. I guess the real boomers wouldn’t mind the Mr. but just remember they’re called by their first name by 22 year olds every day, so I don’t see that there’d be any distinction to them. I can tell you like VP and below, we always have a good laugh when we get an email like that. Even funnier as a woman when you get the “Ms.” with the added kicker of ambiguous marital status.

I've never had an analyst call me by my first name... i'd be furious. Strictly Mr. [last name]
don't forget the add ons "Mr (last name), VP in Consumer Retail, Corporate Investment Bank, New York, New York
I always make sure to call my VP’s ‘Mr Perfect [last name)’
if I forget the perfect they have a pile of admin work that’s been building up that they’re care about their analysts too much to make any of them do
God forbid you leave out MBA, CFA
Had a new An1 call me Mr. [last name], the formality of it gave me a good chuckle.
Wait...you have analysts that respect a VP title?
Mr./Mrs. definitely isn’t necessary. A simple “your honor” should suffice
Yes, but you also have to put his/her pronouns in parentheses afterwards. For example:
"Good Morning, Mr. Crocket, CFA, He/Him/His. How may I suck you off today?"
First name is fine, but it needs to be followed with the customary “Master of the Universe” title
No need for such formality. I prefer to follow a military like approach, address colleagues by their rank.
ANAL2 get over here
Your Highness, Sir [surname]-lot,
M’lady
My VP addresses me as “Mole -” Worm -“ and “pond scum”

I did this when I was in college. Now that I'm on the otherside, it's weird. Just address people by their first name.
i've literally never seen someone use "Mr."

Most prefer to go by Smol Weenie Big Ego
I’m scared of the implication in this question that you know for certain how to address D/MD’s
Oh i definitely don't, although i would assume if they are above a certain age it'd be safer to say mr. But then i haven't been in contact with any MD so.
