Advice on breaking into IB
I am student currently enrolled (joined Fall 2020) in M.Sc. Computer Science with concentration in Machine Learning (ML) at University of Montreal (Universite de Montreal), which is regarded one of best in Canada for its ML program. ML is a pretty math intensive program and constantly requires data analysis, data modelling, creating predictive models etc.. I have been interested in IB since the job seems intellectually stimulating and hard work. However, I don't know how to proceed given that I am not a Finance student and also don't have any finance related experience at this point. I am confident about scoring high GPA. How do I proceed to find an internship and then eventually a job in this field in Canadian market starting as an analyst. I am not targeting any BB but rather Canadian banks and looking for experience in the field.
If it's not possible to break in as an Analyst at any bank, should I take an MBA in Finance later after gaining some work experience in Technology field?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated :) Have a good day:)
