Alcoholic Beverage M&A
Was reading up on the MGP acquisition of Lux Row (Two distilleries) and was curious as to who the biggest IB players are within the Alcoholic beverage industry. Tried searching around on google and LinkedIn and didn't see much. Obviously a small niche but was curious given the growing market share of craft beer and the pop up of various distilleries/bottled cocktails/etc
For reference, I think Nomura was the lead on this deal.
Interesting topic, would be curious to hear who the players are in this space. Would imagine small boutiques but not familiar with the space
Probably just banks with strong consumer/retail, and maybe more specifically food & beverage, practices, since there probably aren’t many alcohol-specific bankers.
For MM, I know Houlihan has a strong food & beverage group based out of Chicago I believe
MS, JPM, LAZ, and Robey Warshaw did AB Inbev
PWP and CS were also involved in this deal, albeit in a lesser role than these other banks (they advised Altria, a major shareholder in SAB)
Lazard does a lot in this space.
Cowen SF
HL Consumer, Food and Retail group out of Chicago absolutely run the Food & Beverage vertical in the 500M-2B range.
