Am I Being Ungrateful of My Role?

Hi all,

Currently a 1st year analyst at a BB based in NY doing structuring on the private side. Working hours are on average 60 hours a week, with a tendency to jump to 80 hours on live deals, rarely any weekend work unless urgent.

Recently received top bucket rating for my review, and comp is expected to be decent (est. 4-6months). While the money and working hours are great compared to M&A, I feel like the learning curve has plateau recently due to the lack of transactions happening. Previously have learnt a lot being on live deals, and also due to the technical / mathematical nature of the job.

Am I being ungrateful of my role? or am I being crazy that I want to be worked more / learn more while being at relatively young age. Currently thinking of transitioning to M&A kind of role. Greatly appreciate on your thoughts and comments. Thank you.

Regards, Ungrateful 1st year analyst
