Am I overthinking

Last week of internship here, at a BB where communication and program coordination is eh. Went to a coffee chat with an ED on the team today and one of the questions he asked me is “What are your future plans? Are you coming back?” I know the FTs had the roundtable discussion last week and this ED stepped out early to take a call. He responded to my CF request email shortly after that (which I sent 2 weeks ago with no response). Everything is sus… Am I overthinking?

I really doubt he is involved in it, sounds like he just didn't know what to ask and was perhaps just an awkward question like "oh do you know if you're coming back". The stepping out to take a call is because a client calling takes priority over an intern, it's not HR on the other side of the glass. I don't see anything sus here and wouldn't read into it.

As someone who has coordinated the recruiting side in the past, feedback from people you worked with goes to your staffer and HR and they work on offers. They're not sending directors out to figure out if you would potentially accept an offer lol
