Am I really missing out by not being in IB?

I am just a regular mexican kid/first gen college grad that didnt know what IB even was until my senior year of college. I was an average kid in high school which got me into an average non-target state school with little to no IB alums.

i am currently working in commercial insurance underwriting making 60K a year/40 hours a week/polo shirt and slacks. I graduated from college last year and I still cant get over the fact that if had I known about IB my freshman year, I would have busted my ass and tried to break in.

I cant say my life is bad or anything, but I really wish I was on wall street. After recently watching movies like Margin Call and The Big Short, I crave wanting to live this lifestyle of getting to wear fancy suits, bonuses, prestige, going to clubs after a long week, models and bottles, knowing regular people either despise you or envy you (aka me), the list goes on...

I want to experience 100 hour work weeks. I want to be on excel everyday. I want to have to have security clearance to enter a BB bank. I wish I could walk to Goldman from my NYC apartment listening to 'Redemption at the Roulette Table' from The Big Short soundtrack.

I want hedge funds. I want to be surrounded by ivy leaguers.

Who cares about work life balance. I just wanna be in a prestigous office all day. That's what would make me happy. You guys act like having a good work life balance is special when all you do after work is just go to the gym, shower, eat, watch netflix, and repeat.

If you are in IB right now especially in NYC, just know that you are lucky and I envy you. I want your life man!!!

Do I have a false image of what working on wall street is really like? I want to be like this guy from jp morgan
