An alternative to trying to get into IB

CONTROVERSIAL

Face it, getting into Wall Street is a very hard path for most. Trying to get into the most elite schools, keeping a high gpa, networking, interviewing, getting through an internship, getting an analyst job, working your ass, possibly getting an MBA, and then finally getting into exits ops.

Instead of all this shit, why not instead just get married to someone who is rich or works in IB or a similar industry? Instead of putting all your energy into trying for Wall Street, put your energy into networking for a person who will make a ton of money while you just go golfing all day. You could also leverage their connections for your own job too. Marry someone who is not in IB or anything, but has close family who is, may also be another alternative.

Of course, this is going to be viewed as highly impractical, or as the cowards way out to getting status/money and the biggest dick move. The ratios of men vs women may also be way far off. But hey, if you don’t mind, it’s a solid alternative.

Sure do you have a semi-attractive sister/nephew/cousin/aunt that can fly me to Paris this weekend from New York? I'm eager to quit my job and find myself on some jet-setting adventures.

Face it, unless your a 8+ woman who is fairly young or some ripped male model who looks like Channing Tatum, or just get really really lucky, it's going to be really tough to marry super rich

What makes you assume that a ultra wealthy person would even consider marrying someone who isn't in the same socio economic level ? Realistically the only way to even have a chance to marry someone who is in that class is to be extremely good looking AND working on wall street at the senior level or be the founder of a huge company that makes you 5 mil + per year

Men date across and down socioeconomic ladder and women date across and up the socioeconomic ladder. So yeah, could be the move if you're a chick but good luck as a (straight) dude.

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.
