Application issue GS
Hi everybody,
I am currently trying to apply to the GS analyst program in London and I cannot proceed with my application due to an issue regarding my current eduction.
I finished my undergraduate degree in July 2019, and I am about to start my MIF in September (I did not start my MIF last year due to family issues).
The problem I am facing is that GS asks for my current education, which I understand is the MIF as, although I have not started it, I am enrolled in the program, and I finished my undergraduate last year. In the application, once you indicate your current degree, they ask you for your current grade, which I do not have since the program has not started yet. The career department of my school's Msc tells me to indicate a "potential" GPA, based on my performance in my undergraduate studies. How do you see this? I am not very fond of it to tell you the truth. Anything else I could do to solve this GPA issue and proceed with my application?
Thanks in advance for your time. Really appreciate it!
Was your gpa good? Bad? Assess what grades you are probably, realistically going to get and use that number. If it is low, challenge yourself and increase it.
Hi Huippu! Thanks for your answer!
My gpa was good, top 10% of my class. I guess I am going to do what you say, as it is in line with what I have been told by the careers department.
Thanks again!
If you got a 1st in undergraduate education then put a 1st. If you got a 2.1, then put a 2.1. Minor difference if you put a 2.1 or 1.1 imo, your experience is far more important.
Another option could be to "predict" yourself a 1st. Some banks asks you to highlight whether your score is actually "obtained" or "expected".
There's also the option of adding an alternative grading system where you have room to type something up. You could indicate there you do not yet have a grade as you didn't start yet. Would say that is the most accurate rather than predicting your MSc grade based on your past BSc performance.
