Ardea Partners in 2024

Wondering if anyone has thoughts on the firm's reputation, prestige, culture/WLB, exits, and comp (yes I've seen other forums but want updated info). Know it's a smaller boutique with interesting senior lineage going back to GS and seemingly impressive deals/deal flow, FIG focus. Wondering what the junior experience is like.

P.S. Looking for SA 2026 hidden gems and think this might be one. Yes, I know it's early for that.

Out of the FIG boutiques it’s probably just a bit better than the others. My friend there is getting grinded to shit though. Comp is flat/no bucketing and you can be pretty confident that it’ll break 200k. Interviews have a modelling test. Good luck

Could you explain the grinded part? How bad are the hours?

lots of queens/ivey kids break in so if you're canadian its def an option for you

How does comp work? Is the base same for analyst levels compared to other boutiques and BBs? Anything on culture or any side benefits other than comp? Also, anything on WFH policy?

Is profit sharing the same thing as their bonus? Or do you get profit sharing on top of the bonus?

IB/PE has a very efficient job market. Everything is priced in so no such thing as hidden gems. Its one of the few if not the only IB that requires a case study round in its SA process. The bar for technicals is very high and believed they only hire like 1 non-Canadian each year for SA.

Agreed. Heard they are extremely selective too. This place is definitely not one of those shops where you can arbitrage, having great WLB + great comp + easy to get in.

Bump. Anything on the different verticals? I know it’s mostly FIG but curious regarding each subset and then the other verticals outside of FIG.
