Ye tons of emails from prospects for networking or telling us they applied + a lot of work + some full-time and internship placement stuff for a lot of banks right now. Analysts are absolutely dying right now in terms of stuff with recruiting, another reason to have recruiting later.

So basically the only people coming out alive out of this are the people with family/friends in banking already. Great!

No, you just had to start networking earlier. You said you go to a target, Ik for a fact we went to all of the target campuses and told people the process would kick off in Jan. Should have networked in Nov and Dec, but nothing you can do now except send out as many emails as you can. January is just the worst time to email, and Nov and Dec are amongst the best in terms of things going on. We are just coming back from New Year's break + getting spammed with work for early 2025 deal closes + all the placement stuff both for interns and full-times.

Edit: getting downvoted for giving y'all honest feedback is an example of the decline of this forum. You gotta be able to take feedback even if you disagree with it. I am at a BB and my friends and I had more calls in Nov than any other month with Dec being a close 2nd.

Honest question- am I fucked? Only had 2 calls before January.

I’m ngl I’m not in b school, I’m at a target tho. I really hope so. Currently grinding the shit out of my technicals

I doubt you're not a prospect despite your title. Networking is by far the most important thing in this process because without it you won't ever get an interview. I lead recruiting for my target school, and we basically evaluate people through networking with the hirevue being more of a check-the-box thing.

This is the worst advice I’ve ever seen on WSO. Unless you have a sophomore summer BB internship you aren’t getting interviews without networking
