Recently applied for an IBD off cycle internship and messaged one VP at the bank. I had a call with him which went quite well but later received an email from HR to avoid direct messages on linkedin and emails to any current employees. Is this normal? I thought networking was a huge part of recruiting so strikes me as odd.
