At a crossroad - No IB Internship, seeking advice on the best route for an eventual Summer Associate entry.

Hi Monkeys,

Quick background: Junior, non-target, so so GPA, previous F100 internship.

Gone through the wringer and got no IB internship for 2019, which means IB full-time prospect is realistically close to none. For this upcoming summer, I have a few options:

  • Asset Management (pretty average firm)
  • Prop Trading (upper middle firm)
  • Officer Candidate School (military summer internship)
  • Take summer classes, do meaningful resume building hobbies, maybe be a visiting scholar at an Ivy or something (since I already have 1 post-graduation full time offer)

Any suggestions? Obviously there are trade offs and opportunity costs with each option. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!
