Back office people piss me off

Why do back office workers strut around thinking they are bankers?

They think they can have their cake and eat it too? Come to the office, live the 'banker life' and go home at 430PM? YOU ARE NOT BANKERS. You are back office workers.

Furthermore, to all of you saying how you move to the front office from the back office. That will never happen. I for one have never seen it happen. Sorry to be harshm but this is 100% true. Just ask a real banker. By saying you want to move to the front office, you are implicitly saying you think your back office job is shit, therefore degrading your colleagues (who are smart enough to know they aren't cut out for the front office) and harming your firm.

In the meantime, stop diluting my prestige, It's irritating and pathetic.

Lol who are you even talking about? Like tech or internal audit homies? I don't know any of them who think they're bankers or traders or whatever. On the flip, I never hate on back office people for doing nice things for themselves. If I see a tech or compliance person with bit loafers, I tend to think "nice shoes" rather than "those are only for bankers" since I like to think I'm not an asshole lmao. I will never shit talk someone elses hustle.

And yeah, you're right. Back officers almost never make the front office jump. Why put someone new in a client facing role when you could just fill that spot with someone who already has experience with that. Unless they do an mba I guess.

Dayman?

Out of curiosity do you work for a large European bank? Anecdotal, but I've noticed a distinct cultural difference on the two sides of the Atlantic when it comes to the allocation of political power between the front and back offices.

Yeah Fuck the back office.

I'm in tech and whenever I go get coffee from the machine I make sure to tell the programmers how many girls they haven't slept with.

I also make more money then most of them so I make sure I talk about my dope vacations. Fucking nerds.
