BAML LevFin

Interested in learning more about the analyst experience at Bank of America's Lev Fin group. Can anyone provide insights to the groups culture, reputation, and exit opps?

Is it as well regarded as Sponsors and M&A in terms of buyside recruiting? Are traditional top PE exits possible or do most exit to credit funds?

Have a friend who was in the group.

It’s a great group. You get to work on a lot of cool and interesting deals (BofA LF is consistently near the top of the league tables so you’ll see a lot of LBOs and M&A financings). Most importantly for juniors, it’s an origination LF group, which means you’ll be doing a lot of the diligence required to get through your credit committee. The balance sheet allows for large committed financings, which means you’ll be working with large sponsors on complex LBOs. The work life balance is also pretty good - much better than in coverage groups.

I would say more analysts exit into credit than PE, but both are equally possible. The group has had analysts go to top PE funds (Carlyle and Vista for example) as well top credit funds like Ares.

Overall, it seems like great group that is highly recommended.

Very accurate. But I wouldn't go out of my way to call their work life balance good
