Banks that Overhire SAs
Which banks typically overhire the most SAs? I heard GS/JPM/Citi frequently hire way more interns than needed which makes getting a return offer hard.

Not sure about the whole bank but UBS tech and FIG definitely overhired analysts last year
I’ve heard UBS tech is a dumpster fire from people in that group
hc has way too many sas I don’t see many returns being handed out
Internships are senior banker bargaining chips i.e. hiring client kids to win mandates
Lazard and JEFF
jef hires a good amt FT every year though
wow I heard Jef returns like 80%
I heard it was around 85-90%
I work at Lazard and the return offer rate has consistently been ~80%+
LAZ tends to be 90%+
Citi is not like that at all. Multiple IBD groups had 100% conversion last year and for the ones that didn’t it was like 70-85%
is this true for JPM and GS as well?
JPM and GS are brutal most cases I’ve heard it’s 60%. Know of some top kids at targets that didn’t get returns and they performed well. Have heard mixed things abt MS
Best thing you can do at any bank is just stop thinking about the RO and instead focus on being obsessed with doing a good job and being enjoyable to work with/be around
Friend was at Citi last year and the head of IB literally told them at a speaker series that they had seats for everyone and that “they are not the type of bank to hire 120 and take 60”.
Anyone have color on WF?
Depends on group, apparently a few had really high conversion rates
Which ones in particular? To not doxx myself could u shed color on some of the coverage groups? (HC/Tech/C&R)
Does anyone know about return offer rates for corporate banking SAs at JPM/Citi/BofA/Wells?
Omnis tempore aperiam excepturi aliquam. Facilis hic odio tempore.
