Barclays SA27 Houston Timeline

I've heard first rounds are out for Houston (I think I submitted my app just as the first wave started phone screens). About five days after submitting my application I was moved on to "Preliminary Conversations" despite having had no additional communication. Is anyone else in a similar spot?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Barclays' Summer Analyst (SA) recruiting timelines can vary slightly by location and year. For Houston, it seems like you're in the early stages of the process. Being moved to "Preliminary Conversations" without additional communication likely indicates that your application has passed an initial screening and is being considered for the next steps, such as phone screens or HireVue interviews.

From previous WSO threads, Barclays' process often includes: 1. Application Review: Resumes are screened, and candidates are moved to the next stage if they meet the criteria. 2. Phone Screens: Typically conducted with analysts or associates, focusing on behavioral and technical questions. 3. Superdays: These are usually held after initial interviews and involve multiple rounds with senior bankers.

If you're seeing "Preliminary Conversations," it might mean you're queued for a phone screen or similar step. Keep an eye on your email for updates, and ensure you're prepared for both behavioral and technical questions. If you're unsure about the timeline, it’s also worth reaching out to HR or checking Barclays' careers portal for updates. Good luck!
