It's more quant or buyside focused like a lot of mfins, going to IB will prob mean you set up your own recruitment pipelines

You would need to pave your own path and start networking for opportunities even before school starts. Its hard, but it has been done. Baruch MSF have placed ppl into very good shops (WF, TD, UBS).

I came from Baruch MSF and is currently in banking, however I want to ensure you that the path is seriously an uphill battle just b/c you are from a Master’s program and a nontarget school.

Also the amount people that claims they want to banking at Baruch is absurd, but 98% of them are not qualified at all. If you want to get the mock interview experience and all that, have a study group outside of school with people that are just as dedicated as you are. Heck, I had mock interviews with folks that I networked with who I can now call a friend.

Just make sure you are serious and never let your foot off the pedal, it will be a stressful two years, but if you are serious about it, you will land a gig somewhere.

For reference: over 2000 outreach, more than 100 contacts in my tracker, actively followed up with all of them. Send out over 1000 job apps (probably) and have gotten like 20 interviews (JPM, DB, UBS, WF, HW, Jeff, RJ, RBC, PWP, and various boutiques) and only one offer.

Hope this helps you and good luck.

Hey, Thank you for your reply. I just want to reach you out somewhere. Can you please tell your name? I will be in touch on LinkedIn if possible, as I want to learn more abojt tne program and the college.

Thank you in advance! :)
