BB Internship for HS Senior
Should I do a paid internship ($7-10/hr) at a BB investment bank even if I'm going to be doing crap work (administrative, pr, research, communications)? Will the big name IB on my resume do anything when I search for itnernships in college?
obviously this is a great opportunity and you know it.
lol Arcanne!
it's through some internship prgram.. it's not real analyst work or anyhting.. i'll probably get stuck answering phones
obviously when you have banking on your resume and nobody else does it will look good. stop being a schmuck and ask real questions if you have them.
i forgot to mention that it's municipal bonds.. i don't think i can choose another dept
Municipal bonds or cow shit, having a BB on your resume before even entering college is worth having.
Guys in my high school did this all the time, it was no big deal.
cool.. thanks for the responses
shows you how sad this world has come to when you already have high school seniors trying to get into investment banking
find me another non-restaurant $10/hr job
I made $30/hr working in high school working for myself.
What's up?
kudos to you..
except ebay business don't pay you per hour
Wasn't eBay
I fixed computers for people during 11th and 12th summer breaks. Usually worked between 6pm~10pm (when people don't have work), three days per week so I had most of my time for free to spend.
and besides, all the transaction took place in cash, so no tax...
also, my friend played organ at funerals for $100~150/hr (plus all the tips people gave). two to four hours each funeral and about two funerals per week. all in cash.
come on, it's not worth it. Banking before college, and even college kids are sacrificing their social time to get their gpa as close to 4.0 mark, reading WSJ everyday, and sucking up to those who already have banking experience?
come on, it's not worth it.
go play ps3 or something
I worked at a Rock Climbing wall in High School. I turned out ok, and I'm a pretty damn good climber to boot.
This summer Citigroup had a HS senior interning in IBD, public finance.
