BB/EB off-cycle internships?

Hello, Im a bit confused on how to approach off cycle internships at BBs/EBs (US). Im currently a junior who will be interning in one of the top groups in banking and I was looking to do something during the school year as my class load is low and Im a bit bored at home due to commuting.

I have two offers currently for internships during the semester, one at the previous boutique that I interned and one in a lower middle market specialized boutique. The issue is that they are both unpaid and Im currently not looking to work for free.

How should I approach trying to get something off-cycle? Is it even too late to try to land something? Should I hit up hr at the bank that I will be interning and inquire? Or would it be better to just ask senior contacts?
