Currently looking for a mechanical keyboard for my SA stint next summer. What would you all recommend? Or are mechanical keyboards just too loud for the office?

Would disagree.. bring whatever helps you work best - logitech has a couple of great ones like the k840 (anything works so long as it doesn't have flashy lights or what not)
This advice is so bad I almost hit the flag button.
Any hardo move that suggests you care way too much about improving your performance by 0.1% will never make you look good as an intern.
