BlueArc Capital?????
They are recruiting interns at my school, but the website only contains the contact info. The internship is unpaid, and is expecting interns to work virtually. It is based in Atlanta.
What do you guys think?
Thanks a lot!

Doesn't sound too good. Who knows, could be good. If you have nothing else lined up I would do it.
Sent you a PM. Anyone have any more info?
It said it is a hedge fund, btw.
anyone?
Its a job
guy above has 1 post.
just noting that.
A kid in my investment club has a 'job' there. You more or less send a bi-weekly industry report and stock investment ideas to them electronically. I'm not sure how legit or not legit it is, but from what my friend has told me, they don't really ask much of you and it seems like you could use it to boost your resume. I can ask him if you want more info.
Federal Law requires entities like hedge funds not to "advertise" or market to the general public their funds. Thus, no legit website of a hedge fund contains any information whatsoever...so, if you are using this as your criteria, then you will always not find any hf legit!
It's actually a family office that invests in public equities and a little bit in alternative investments.
If they are asking you to intern remotely, they will likely be looking for you to send in industry reports and ideas about current or potential equities they are holding in their portfolio.
Isn't the greatest sounding gig in the world, but you have to compare that to what your other options are. If you have none then take this and run with it. It is certainly possible that you could do a semester remotely and then talk to them about working on-site and learning more about how everything works there.
Probably worth a shot. Good luck.
Regards
Had a phone interview with them last year, talked to a guy name Mike. What I got from them is that they are a hedge fund company with a small office in Atlanta. They only have four or five guys working at the office and like metalasian said, you work virtually and submit a bi-weekly report of industries that they want you to cover. This isn't really a job. This is more of a resume builder for someone who's in their sophomore or junior year of college. I asked them if there was an opportunity to work with them full time after the internship and they said that they're really only looking for interns.
But hey, that was a year ago, a lot could have changed. I see that their website is a lot nicer than the last time I researched them. GL : ]
I will start working at a BB this coming summer. The CEO of the firm was extremely helpful and was willing to write recommendations. I am glad that I've worked there as an intern!
