BOFA London: Please share your insights

Looking for insights into culture at C&R group at BOFA London. So far, found here info that in general groups are oversaturated with analysts and associates (is this a case in London as well?), but what is the culture there, in particular at C&R?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are insights into the culture at the C&R group at BofA London:

  • Culture: The C&R group at BofA London is noted for having a strong culture. The team head is described as "the loveliest woman in banking," which suggests a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Team Size and Dynamics: While the Healthcare (HC) group at BofA London is mentioned as being smaller compared to other banks, there is no specific mention of the C&R group being oversaturated with analysts and associates. However, it is important to consider that the general sentiment about groups being oversaturated might still apply.
  • Deal Flow: The C&R group is recognized for its strong deal flow, particularly in the P2P sphere, which indicates a busy and dynamic work environment.

For more detailed and specific insights, it might be beneficial to connect with current or former employees of the C&R group at BofA London.

A friend works there. One of the smaller teams in the office but also one of the best. They have been doing very well and this is widely recognized within the bank. As mentioned above, definitely not bloated and have had some turnover at associate level last year (I think one guy left to CD&R and others to quite decent shops). Hours can be long but I wouldn’t say an “absolute sweatshop”. Culture seems to be good, working on weekends (full day) is the exception and the juniors are pretty close.

Thanks. Do you happen to know how the verticals are organized and whether culture/hours differ significantly per vertical?

Yes, hours are brutal due to the massive deal flow.

IDK, where you heard about the culture as the culture is really good.

Source: I interned there this summer.

Good exits, for example had TPG and Hg this year (speaking about London office).

They are structured in verticals (with a major and a minor for each analyst I believe), so you would have an assigned coverage space, for example insurance or asset management. Not sure if there is also some regional element to it (i.e. German vs Italian Insurance)

Culture is probably quite hardo and they are known to work very long hours. A lot of the juniors are nice though so potentially driven top down. Note that BofA is currently putting a lot of pressure on seniors to ensure people don’t work above 90 hours and there is increased monitoring. Scrutiny for FIG will probably be extra high. Remains to be seen how this shakes out: if there is any underreporting, how long it will last etc.

How long does it normally take to hear from BofA after submitting the HV?

Has anyone heard after submitting their HV, whether for C&R or HC?

any idea if the next step is TI or straight to AC?

Have you received an invite by any chance? I mean I initially applied for HC, but then got asked if also want to be considered for C&R and I said yes. It’s been quite a while as I applied immediately after the role appeared on their website but heard nothing after HV submission. Does it mean I got dinged?
