boutique banks in san franicsco

Looking to join a boutique bank in san francisco this fall. I'm currently a junior attending UC Berkeley as an economics major also doing pre-med.

What are some boutique banks to be aware of in SF?

Because I honestly can't find any boutique banks offering internships when I google them.

Should I just email associates about internship positions?

Thank you my friends. I love you all.

Thank me later.

And please, do NOT approach a bank like Qatalyst Partners for a school year internship. Or most of the banks Goodwill_Gorilla mentioned, for that matter. You need to approach smaller boutiques. It should be easy to find Cal/Haas alumni at these banks.

maybe look at somewhere like pagemill, jmp, arbor , pacific crest, the smaller guys who might need guys

I do know that lazard has a night analysts program when i was screening for resumes and some of them convert that into summer. Maybe try that.

Imperial LA and HLHZ LA had a school internship program but not sure about the SF office.

I don't want to be that guy, but there are quite a few threads on the subject. I'll copy&paste from the thread I have up on the subject but I haven't verified or looked at all of them so don't be a little shit if the information is dated or not fully comprehensive. I would post the link but I don't have enough banana points (hint) and be sure to check out Houlihan.

Depends on when you want the internship. If you have time, try to build a connection. If you need the internship this semester, get to the point.

So should I begin my initial email asking for an internship position. Or should I ask about how to break into the industry and how to get an internship position at a boutique bank?
