Boutique IB Freshman Internship

Hi all,

I'm cold emailing regional boutiques for an internship this summer. Do you guys have any tips for upping the success rate? Should I be attaching my resume? Putting unpaid intern in subject line? For those who have successfully landed one of these internships was it only through a school alumni connection? For context I do have some finance experience as I'm working at a searchfund right now, but struggling with getting responses on my emails.

for freshmen just say unpaid straight up it’s getting close to summer you’re desperate not them

if they do have an opening and it’s paid then that’s good but if they don’t and you want pay then they’re obviously not even gonna offer

also always attach resume with a signature in your email with school, year, major, linkedin

else even hint at that you’re graduating in three years and is theoretically a sophomore to up chances

most firms don’t gaf about freshmen

else stalk upperclassmen for where they did freshmen summer or surround target schools in the city you want to be in

Thanks! Also kind of off-topic, but do you think small VC funds would be willing to take on unpaid interns as well? Or is there really no point to applying.
