UK or not, this is not strictly true. It is true that some banks used to call IB "corporate finance" and some still do (e.g. Houlihan). But corporate finance has a much wider meaning in the general corporate world beyond just banking or doing transactions. It's literally just about maximising shareholder value. Just clarifying for prospects.
As to your situation, anything is better than nothing.
I understand but in the UK specifically, IB is referred to as corporate finance quite a lot. Not sure what they call the corporate finance equivalent from America here?
