Can I take a week off?
I'm approaching a year in at a MM bank in NYC and so far have used 1 PTO day (day after Christmas); and we don't get to keep unused days in to the following year. We have a major family event and was wondering if this would be viewed badly? I'm planning giving a 3 month heads up

Just take a week off. You’ve been there a year and no one cares now that you’re up the curve and now have a reputation.
On my team we do a week in the spring, a week in August, and a week over the holidays and no one bats an eye.
