What was the course like? A bunch of other similar courses out there so hoping to see the value add in CA specifically
I’d highly recommend doing the course. I started the course when I was a senior in college and now in my first year as an analyst it helped me prepare a ton. The materials are very specific and taught in a way that was easy to understand. The examples to work through are invaluable as they give you great exposure to what a real deal could/will look like. This course was designed to prepare you for live deals and it has done just that for me. Nice to have people running the course as well who are participating in live deals and know what they’re talking about.
Capital academy made modeling so much easier for me. I was doing cases before and just copying formulas without actually understanding what was happening, but their sell-side case made me to actually think through the economics/fundamentals behind what i was doing. I was able to apply the technicals that I was originally memorizing and regurgitating into actually understanding the use cases behind why these things matter
I would strongly recommend capital academy. I purchased the full package and went through it recently and loved it. It prepped me to feel more educated sitting in a room of seasoned investors. One of the best courses out there to help prep you for recruiting if that is the season you are in. I was not personally looking for the help on recruitment and wanted to rather dial in more technical skills and understand the full picture of how a deal works end to end. CA has taught me significantly more than my finance classes. Would agree with other comments that it is also nice that the guys building the courses are actually sitting through live deals as well in real time. I figured the only benefits would be in the modeling reps, seeing a deal end to end, and acting as an analyst but there were plenty of nice surprises such as developing a sharper and more professional business acumen as well as sharpening my fundamentals. (all on top of their top tier modeling courses, etc.)
tldr - highly recommend the investment in CA

Ignore title, AS1 in distressed. The course was made by a Miami U (Ohio) grad who was larping Ares buyout/credit when he was in their PWM team. Haven't bought the course but I wouldn't trust content made by 1 dude who doesn't even have 2 years in the industry, much less a relevant one.
