Citi Industrial Insight?

Does anyone have insight into the culture and WLB at Citi Industrial? All the prior post said that it's a sweat shop. Interested for both the Chicago and NYC office.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Citi's Industrials team has a strong presence, particularly in Chicago, where the global head of M&A is based. The Chicago office is known for its focus on diversified industrials and has a healthy balance of representation from top business schools. However, work-life balance (WLB) can vary significantly depending on the group and office culture. While Citi emphasizes inclusivity and mental health resources, some groups, including Industrials, are known to work their teams hard, which aligns with the "sweatshop" reputation mentioned in prior posts.

For the NYC office, the culture and WLB may also depend on the specific team dynamics and leadership. Citi's overall reputation suggests that while there are opportunities for growth and strong exit options, the workload can be intense, especially in high-performing groups like Industrials.

Total sweatshop, busiest coverage group in NYC. Heard the culture is relatively toxic as well but as with all groups that’s mostly MD and staffing dependent. It’s decent work though since industrials does a lot of debt deals so you’re not just sweating around making M&A pitchbooks all day waiting on mgmt to throw you a fckin bone. This is all secondhand info btw fwiw

which group from Citi is the least of a sweatshop?

Have you heard about the late nights in the power group? Industrials being the most sweaty is a joke.

Industrials isn’t even the sweatiest coverage at Citi lol, much less all of NYC

Sponsors (GAM) the chillest, M&A more grindy than Industrials.

Exits are solid through them all. Order would probably be M&A, IND, Sponsors
