Community college to University

I am preparing myself to transfer from a community college to a 4 year university. I will give you all a quick rundown of where I’m at. I originally went to a CC in MD where I ended up with a 2.0 GPA. I had some issues going on. I moved to Florida where I took off a year and now I’m back a CC. Finished the fall semester with a 3.7 and plan for a 4.0 as spring ends. My cumulative GPA will be around 3.0 by the end of this semester. With my GPA crap and that I attend a community college I know I am fighting an uphill battle. I will be transferring to a four year university for the fall of 2016. I feel like that I have no chance getting into a target school but maybe a semi-target? Not sure where to begin with schools to transfer to. I have looked in to Lehigh and Vanderbilt but no too sure on my chances.

I am in a similar position, best thing for you to do is to get your GPA high as possible, join clubs, get a job/internship while in CC to improve your EC's, and make sure you transfer to a University that has decent OCR so you have the possibility of finding a good job. Realistically your odds of getting into Leigh and Vanderbilt are low, I'd shoot for your state school.
