Compensation Discussion

I recently was promoted to associate at my firm and believe I have performed well above the standard expectations since then by taking on larger roles in underwriting and strategically through solving a fairly large problem that our team was facing due to a specific risk shift in the landscape of our deals. I am curious whether people believe the firm would recognize that initiative and hard work through compensation at year-end or if I’d have to vouch and push for it? My MD believes this is almost ground breaking not only for the team but enterprise wide once adopted. Esentially if one deal is approved which would otherwise be denied, it creates incremental millions of revenue. How should I go about this in year-end performance review?
