Corporate Paralegal to Investment Banking
Hey everyone--
I am obviously interesting in IB but have been focused on other fields while studying in college. I have been given the opportunity to start my career as a 'corporate paralegal' at a finance-based law firm. Specifically, this would be on their M&A team and has been described as a hybrid 'paralegal-financial analyst' position.
I have made it clear to the VP of the team that my intention is to transition into banking; and he has stated that some individuals have attempted to do this. I am not interesting in obtaining a JD, so I would most likely attempt to utilize this experience to gain foundational knowledge and reinforce to my resume.
Please let me know if anybody has been through this and if it could potential be a good idea. Thank you for your time.
