Credit Analyst Interview please help!
I have a Credit Analyst interview coming up with UMB bank next week. So far I can only think of questions about linking the 3 financial statements together.
What other questions can I expect? Does anyone have a Vault guide that touches on this? Do you know about the culture, company, etc.? Do you recommend any other resources?
Thanks all in advance!
how to prepare for a credit analyst interview

Here are some key topics you’ll want to review.
- EV/EBITDA ratio to evaluate cost structures
of businesses. - Be able to identify cash flows and draw conclusions from a creditors perspective.
3 Common Credit Analyst Job Interview Questions
- If you had one financial statement to look it which would it be and why? (Think about this question as creditor)
- What are some the key ratios used to evaluate credit?
- What happens to each financial statement when a company purchases a piece of equipment? (Think about this question as creditor)

I would recommend taking a look at the fundamentals of credit analysis section of the CFA l1 Schweser notes, as well as looking at the Handbook of Credit Risk Management which is both available for free online via torrent. If you have the time, you could also take a look at S&P's fundamentals of corporate credit analysis depending on how much time you have.

I had a credit interview with a large bank and was by asked a single technical question. However I prepared by making a Moodys account and reading their weekly credit report. I referenced it in my why credit answer and it taught me some of the risks/ effects ratings agencys look at. Is this commercial credit or credit risk at an ibank?
commercial credit. Are you talking about IB?
HELP ANYONE?
you might want to look up why a business would want to raise money through credit rather than equity markets. also, important to keep in mind that with credit (as opposed to equity) the lender is primarily concerned with downside risk rather than growth or valuation....they want to make sure they are going to be paid back.
If this is for a commercial credit analyst at a bank then understand how a bank gets paid back, the ratios that are important, etc.
Last bump.
My interview is tomorrow and I found a lot of info on the bank. I can probably count on being asked about analysis formulas in the CFA curriculum (D/E,TIE,WC,FCFF,ect.)?
Any last advice?
Also, does anyone know where I can find the thread about "How the 3 financial statements relate to each other"
Thanks again!
