Credit Crisis Explained

Here is a really nice visualization explaining the credit crisis. It oversimplifies a few things, but for all your friends and family that keep asking you, "What the F***???", you can point them to this.

It touches but does not expound on the role of the insurance companies that attempted to alleviate the fears of the CDOs defaulting by insuring them through CDS. It touches upon it, but I was quite surprised that it didn't have an animation at the end where everyone was calling the insurance company wanting them to cover their losses on the defaults and the insurance company did not have enough liquid assets on hand to cover all the claims (ala AIG).

Apart from that, it's a pretty good description.

GoodBreadA video on what happens afterwards would be sweet too.

I think this is it:

Yeah, that $300,000 to $90,000 is no joke.

Here in Miami, condos that used to sell for over $700,000 now sell for about $115,000 (or less).
