D&A Combined in 10-K

Hi! I've been trying to create an earnings model but have noticed a lot of companies don't separate depreciation and amortization in their 10-k. How do I work around this when I need to create separate D&A schedules? I've tried to see if I could subtract from the total based on notes about specific assets depreciating to get the total value of amortization, but it doesn't seem to be an accurate way to do it(the total value of depreciation from the notes scattered about may not equal the actual total value of depreciation for the year). If you have any tips, I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks.
