Just be better bro. Focus on your technicals.
stop whining and bitching like a beta. Seems like a skill issue.

They rly gotta stop lol, see one too many underwhelming canadian candidates at Evercore. ~3 kids couldn’t even get a return
This is not true - virtually every single Canadian SA over the last few cycles received a return. I only remember one Women's Program pipeline intern from back in 2022 not receiving it because she was awful
This is objectively false.
Honestly agree. Same with these weird creepy OSG Asians. Both Canadians and OSG has backed EVR. I go to HYP and tons of people didn’t even get interviews with stellar profiles. The hate above is Canadians — most of these guys suck except that one dude.
This needs to stop. What Canadian controls EVR.
Which dude
Almost all OSG students are international with a growing number of American born Chinese mixed in there. Agree they are highly corrosive to the process though
Same with Canadians bro. Why are people at top US targets not getting interviews but finance major at Ivey is. This makes no sense.
Canadians at RBC needs to be addressed... parasites to America and won't even try to get citizenship
I mean RBC is literally a Canadian bank what do you expect….
Probably because...wait for it....they can get literally the top 1% of the students from the Canadian schools but are in the running with every other EB / top BB for US students and don't always get the best / brightest from the US schools
Almost all the best Canadian students come to US targets if they are good enough anyways.
That is not true, only applies to those from a very small socio-economic background who even consider the US
Didn't MS you but not remotely true. Many do not have the exposure or funds. You could argue that they ultimately end up in the US - through programs like EVR
Canadians would be wise to keep their mouths shut instead of fuelling the fire during very delicate times.
This is coming from a Canadian in the U.S. who is counting his blessings to be here and wants to stay. It’s well known Canadians pass interview questions to their own through various pipelines that exist in the U.S. to EBs.
Canadian analysts are strong, due to the mentioned schools basically being four year feeder programs preparing you for a job in investment banking and due to the fact that these are the most driven students in a country with ~40M people. There are also some duds.
I have wondered myself how frustrating it might be to have attended Harvard and have that degree be made to feel useless vs. one that cost a fourth as much in another country.
Is Harvard supposed to guarantee you a banking job? Even Harvard has a bottom quartile
The same thing happens at Harvard and other top US schools. Knowledge sharing happens in every facet of life. If you can’t get interview questions in advance it means no one likes you enough to help you out. Finance probably the wrong industry for this kind of person.
Is this a joke? I went to a semi target and we had clubs and business fraternities with previous cycle interview questions, name of recruiting captains, email templates etc that we’d share during freshman/sophomore year member prep sessions
This happens in every single business program in the US and sounds like in Canada too
the waterloo kids in tech are beyond irritating too
what does this mean lol
Classic mommy’s special boy at a “super target” coping they didn’t get an offer.
Maybe because Queens and Ivey as the top 2 business schools in Canada, are better programs than most American undergrads beyond the T10?
Maybe because they’re smaller programs which tailor their students for finance/consulting careers, so a greater number go into those fields than marketing, accounting, etc
Or maybe it’s because their alumni actually help each other, and other Canadians not from their school, instead of constantly talking about “school rankings” and random DEI excuses.
But hey, you guys got trump now, and maybe the new h1b rules will help you LMAO
Instead of drinking the koolaid, maybe try eating the poutine!
bro there's like 5 canadians that are AN1 at EVR? may as well namedrop them if this post is going to be just you bitching instead. go ahead and walk me through some acc/dil technicals or literally stfu
Canadians help each other out. But it’s not more impactful than the avg fraternity storing old exams in the attic or an investment club giving out prep / holding a slot for one of their own.
If you can’t find a group like that to help you out, you are cooked in life.
This entire thread is hilarious because on average only ~20-25 Canadians even end up in the US every year and 4-5 of them are at Evercore NY/Menlo
