Diversity for International Juniors?

Hello esteemed WSO community,

I recently transferred from abroad (born and raised in Mexico) to a semi-target in the south east with an increasing presence in IB.

I transferred in this semester as a Junior, and I had no idea of the finance world here in the US. So no internships, no applications, etc. Wanting to do IB but I understand I messed up the timelines, open to asset management and wealth management.

So I missed the sophomore recruiting and also apparently all of the diversity programs. Now I find myself in the search for a summer internship that could potentially set me up for improved chances after graduating May 2025. It seems that diversity doesn't really play a role as much as it would have if I did this process a year ago. Being an international student (have 3 years of opt so thats nice) also doesn't help.

I was wondering if any of you had any advice on how to navigate and take advantage of the diversity fact when I missed all of the programs. (I have been networking a lot but it seems that any fron office position at any large bank is already filled for summer 2024, will have to wait for 2025)

Thank you all,

Happy holidays
