What is the better opportunity?
PE opportunity.
Stating the obvious: yes this happens every year, some incoming analysts get something better and turns down the offer last minute. Also seen analysts that take another offer to plug to gap between graduation and their start date.

Don’t worry about it. Take the PE offer and just be respectful with regards to withdrawing from your other offer.
