Easiest Internet Company I can build to make passive income

Here’s how I’m looking at this:

  1. Explosion of AI tools and no-code / low-code should allow basically anyone to put together a website / app
  2. Fixed cost of starting a business is getting cheaper and easier with all the infrastructure and fintech options. AWS, Stripe, Merge, etc.
  3. The biggest value add for these tools is that “1 engineer is worth 10-100”. The whole point of tech / innovation is that more can be done with less.

Based on all this, I think it’s reasonable to say that 1 person could stand up a half decent product by themselves that makes decent passive income. By no means am I trying to build a company of the future by myself, literally just trying to find the easiest way to make passive income.

What business/product should I make? I think a marketplace in a niche vertical could be interesting but want to hear what you all think

Depends on what no-code tools you're working with. What tools are you looking at currently?

You want to further shit up the internet with more robot-written affiliate link websites? Perhaps drop-ship some plastic crap from China?  You’ll have to get in line behind 10 billion Indian people who had the same idea first.

If you're talking relatively-passive supplementary income, and not creating a job-quitting full-income, then there are countless ways.

You mention the explosion of AI tools? The skill required to produce high-value copywriting/written ads has practically disappeared overnight. Open a written copywriting/written ad agency, have AI write it, throw it into grammarly for a proofread, then do a quick review yourself.

You mention how starting a business is getting cheaper? Sell this. So many people believe they have a great business idea without really knowing where to start. Sell a one-stop-shop to have everything from the website, domain, payment profile, cloud storage, etc. all set up! You can do these pretty easily/cheaply and then charge a material margin (or in return for equity if you're willing to take on that kind of risk).

You mention taking advantage of niche verticals? The fastest way in the modern-era to test a niche vertical is to 1, see if the niche truly exists, and 2, to see if the niche is untapped. Both can be tested/checked via publicly available trend data (provided by google) and can be further tested by producing free content (TikTok/YT/any other digital platform with free organic growth to determine if there is a validity to an idea).

Lots of ideas out there but this is the best I can do while drinking my morning coffee!

Talking about passive supplementary income, I actually believe that affiliate marketing is a good option. It is a way to earn some extra cash without having to put in a lot of effort. You do need is some knowledge about the digital world and how to build and monetize a website. To really maximize your earnings, you can also use AI tools (here's a great article about this topic) to help you analyze your website's performance and optimize your content for search engines. And yes, these tools can also be used for content creation but the trick is to learn more about writing good prompts, otherwise, the results will be... well, we've all seen this type of content around, and no wonder it has a bad reputation. Done right, this can help you attract more visitors to your site and increase your conversions, which you'll need to track and analyze. And if you have basic knowledge about digital marketing, google analytics affiliate tracking, that can be done this way, won't be difficult to figure out. My point is, whatever you decide to do and whichever tool you decide to use along the way - it can be done properly (doing thorough research, reading about the best practices, trying out a couple of approaches) or you can cut corners and wonder why it doesn't work. If you take some time to set things up, it's a fairly easy ride later on.
