edate in excel
does anyone know how to autofill using the edate function so you can fill in the months for multiple years
i.e. =edate(b16,0) edate(b16,1) edate(b16,2)
but using autofill all the way up to lets say, 150...

maybe I don't understand what you are trying to do, but anyway...
rather than referencing b16 - make it reference the previous cell, i.e., edate(b16,1), edate(b17,1), edate(b18,1)
edate uses a start date, then adds a number to reference how many months it is from that start date
the edate($b16$,0) is the base month - $b16$ doesnt change, its the base date.
i need to auto fill the number part.
don't lock b16, instead of $b$16 use b16 - that way you will reset/change the start date every time, that way you can just use edate(b16,1) and copy paste the rest - simple but works....
try having a column with the numbers 0 to 150 (say column A) and the base date in B1 In C1 have =edate($B$1, A1) and autofill that Is that what you're looking for or am I misunderstanding? Also, try the google excel misc. group, there are really knowledgeable folks regularly there
or your other option would be to have each cell reference the cell above and add a month: A2: =edate(A1, 1) A3: =edate(A2, 1) ....and just copy/paste that down the whole column
