Most IOCs will hire a good handful of business analysts. Not so sure on their exact function, but I'd check out the (super)majors and work your way on down.
Here's from a quick search:

cool thanks. i'm not sure what business analysts do either, but i'm assuming its a variety of things. preferably i'd like to be in their corp finance dep't working on corp development projects (M&A and such)....just not exactly sure what the job title for that type of thing is.
I have a family friend who was head of acquisitions at a large independent E&P firm (30-50B mkt cap). He basically scouted reserve acquisitions and did some internal "business development" as well. He started out in IB. I can't be sure, but I think suffering through a few years of IB would be a huge leg up on corp dev down the road esp. if you want to see any M&A. Like I said, can't be sure how important an IB background is, but I'd bet that if you looked up several Corp Dev VPs in O&G a lot of Houston Barclays/Lehman and CS alums would pop up.
A lot of times it will be referred to as FP&A.
Won't be limited to just the integrateds of course. Look at the service companies like Schlumberger, Halliburton, Cameron, etc.

Depends on if you are talking about the undergrad or graduate level entry programs for major O&G companies. For undergrad programs they will generally expect that you spend 2+ years in an FP&A or another business analyst role to learn the industry/company basics before considering you for corp/biz dev roles. A lot of O&G companies have finance development programs that would put you in a good position to transition to corp/biz dev role, see Chevron's website>>careers>>students>>undergrad development programs
Entry level positions grad/MBA level are possible if you have prior background in the industry (strong preference for engineering backgrounds) or O&G banking. Otherwise, the most likely route would be a graduate level finance development program that includes a rotation to corp/biz dev or sets you up to transition there after 2+ years.
