Entering IB - what level will I be?

Hi all, thanks for your time and reading my post. I have a Master's degree from the University of Melbourne, worked for a German bank in the risk management department for three years and am now a self employed consultant in the regulatory reporting field (CRR, Basel III) for over two years. In June 2016 I will hopefully pass my CFA (level three). By that time I have six years of work experience and let's assume my CFA certificate. I will be 31 years then. My questions: 1) Do you think I will be able to start working in an IBD of a major investment bank? 2) What level will I mostly start? After all I read the associate level seems most fittig. Would you agree?

Thanks for answering my questions...

Cheers, tom1999

Thanks for your honest answer. Could you elaborate on the reasons, why you think that I don't have a shot in investment banking? Am I "too old"? Or is my prior work experience not meaningful for IB? Cheers
