ER and IB salaries

this question has probably been asked and answered several times. but what is the diffence in annual remuneration package between ER and IB?

i was under the impression that at junior positions (ie: analysts and associates), the difference is not significant. it is only at senior positions (ie: VP and above) that you begin to see the difference. but recently, a ER VP told me that there is not mcuh difference between ER and IB even at senior levels.
