Exiting from Sub-IG Debt Banking
I’m a few months into an IB job raising sub-IG institutional debt for MM clients.
Frankly, I’m not crazy about it so far. I plan on sticking around at least until I close a deal or two and probably until I get my first bonus, but I don’t know if this is the right path for me long-term.
I know people from my group exit to direct lenders pretty frequently, which is something I’m considering looking into. However, would it still be relatively easy for someone on the debt side to exit to a corporate or startup role? I’m worried my skills are less applicable than an industry group’s would be.
Thanks all in advance
